The course aims at:

- Understanding the digital revolution of building modelling

- Acquiring knowledge of digital modelling of buildings for design, planning and construction (Building Information Modelling, BIM)

- Tracing and managing information, dependencies and changes in design and planning

- Utilize data analysis and machine learning to manage building performance

Programme to be followed


1. Introduction to building design and BIM: Object-oriented modelling, geometry and semantics

2. Coordination, interoperability and information management, Systems Engineering (SE)


3. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for buildings

4. Data, analytics and machine learning for building performance

5. Project presentation with report; Test


Laptop required: yes 




Basic knowledge of computer modelling and programming is useful.

Interest in the digital modelling of the built environment (design, planning, construction and operation).
