Objectives

The domain of health and medicine is currently confronting a series of transformations: the increasing entanglement between biological sciences and medical practice; the emergence of new actors (patient organizations, health safety agencies) who actively intervene into biomedical activities and health issues; the development of ethical concerns on medical experimentation and research protocols.

The course aims at providing an understanding of these transformations, with a particular focus on their social and political relevance both at national and European levels.
